Nike's "Year of the Snake" Dunk Low GS has surfaced ahead of its Spring 2025 release, featuring serpentine details and rich textures. Meanwhile, UK rapper Central Cee has revealed his first Nike collaboration with the Air Max 95, blending his streetwear style with grey and metallic accents.
Nike Unveils Serpentine-Themed Dunk Low GS for 2025 ‘Year of the Snake’ Lunar New Year Collection
Nike had long celebrated the Lunar New Year, with its tradition stretching back to 2002 and growing significantly since 2007 when it began releasing annual zodiac-inspired lifestyle collections. As 2025 approaches, Nike is preparing to unveil its "Year of the Snake" collection for Spring, including a serpentine-themed Dunk Low GS. Following earlier reveals like the YOTS Air Force 1 and Kobe 5 Year of the Mamba, the latest addition to the collection has surfaced.
According to Sneaker News, this Dunk Low GS features light green overlays on a white base, with a white midsole and gum outsole. The standout element of the design is its "Year of the Snake" theme, most evident on the tongue and insoles, where Nike has incorporated snake graphics into its signature "Just Do It" branding. A unique red fabric piece juts out from the bottom of the tongue tag, resembling a snake’s tongue, while a quilted brown satin lining mimics the texture of snakeskin. Adding a traditional touch, a red Wanzi knot is included, and the design is finished off with a silver quarter Swoosh accented by red stitching and a gold mini-Swoosh on the lateral toe.
The "Year of the Snake" officially begins on January 29, 2025, and this grade school Dunk Low is expected to release around that time. Stay tuned for more updates as Nike continues to roll out its Lunar New Year collection.
Central Cee Unveils First Nike Air Max 95 Collaboration, Blending Streetwear Style with Signature Flair
Meanwhile, UK rapper Central Cee has made waves with his opinions on sneaker culture, as seen in a viral sneaker shopping video with Kick Game. Known for challenging consumerism and dismissing hype, he emphasized the importance of wearing what you like, notably calling a pair of Union x Jordan 1s "horrid." Naturally, there has been a lot of buzz around his first-ever Nike collaboration, and fans have finally gotten a glimpse of what it will look like.
Central Cee revealed his take on the Air Max 95 in a video posted to Instagram, part of a collaboration with his streetwear brand Syna World. The shoe features "Cool Grey" nubuck sidewalls, complemented by "Metallic Red Bronze" accents on the mini-Swoosh, back, eyelets, tongue, and Air units. Additionally, the shoe comes with two metal hang tags: one with the graffiti-style Syna logo and the other reading "Live Yours," a nod to Cee's motto and the title of one of his songs.
Despite his outspoken views on sneaker culture, Central Cee’s Air Max 95 collaboration reflects his style. As a fan of Nike Tech fleeces, the grey tones of this Air Max 95 complement his wardrobe. The design, though understated, draws comparisons to the highly coveted Cortez x Air Max 95, known for its similar grey and black treatment.
The Central Cee x Air Max 95 will be released on October 24, 2024, likely through the syna.store, with more distribution channels yet to be confirmed. The collaboration will also include matching Nike Tech apparel. Stay tuned for updated images and release details as the anticipation for Central Cee’s first Nike collaboration continues to build.
