Now that “Code Vein” is out, “Nioh 2” is the next title that is highly-anticipated by fans who have a penchant for extremely difficult gameplay. The game has been one of the stars in last month’s Tokyo Games Show where fans got the chance to play the game personally.
Apart from the demo, Team Ninja also released another “Nioh 2” trailer where it showcased a mix of cutscenes, gameplay, and some of the boss present in the game. And at the end of the video, it stated that the title would be coming out in early 2020.
The developers haven’t confirmed the exact date, but if “Nioh 2” follows its predecessor, it could hit the shelves in the early weeks of February. Maybe even in January if we’re lucky enough.
Nioh 2 to launch open beta next month
And speaking of luck, the developers have also announced that they will be launching a “Nioh 2” open beta from Nov. 1 to 10. This will not be exclusive to PS+ subscribers either as Team Ninja confirmed everyone could access the free trial, Gamesradar reported.
As for what to expect from its gameplay, producer Fumihiko Yasuda said that there would be no easy setting for “Nioh 2.” And while players can team up with their friends to try and mitigate this, the difficulty of the game actually stacks depending on the people for each play-through.
Nioh 2 will not have a multi-ending for its plotline
“The game is a so-called Masocore game, so we want the difficulty to be the same for everyone, even if you may be able to see people beat the bosses on YouTube and that sort of stuff. Yet we do have things to help out players, for example, the Benevolent Graves and three-player multiplayer, and we do think those will be a big helping hand for people to beat the [Nioh 2],” Yasuda told TwinFinite. Masocore fans, of course, are thrilled about the news and are itching to get their hands on the title.
As for its story, Yasuda confirmed that “Nioh 2” will not have a multi-ending. But he did say that the mission’s content will vary depending on the player’s action so there’s at least some variety to the narrative, small that may be.
