The “No Man's Sky NEXT” Update that Hello Games recently released provides players with plenty of the features that they were promised when the game launched in 2016 but did not come to fruition. Not only did the visuals and gameplay mechanics get an upgrade, multiplayer is also finally available. Unfortunately, the latter won’t be available to those who bought the game from GOG.com.
The “No Man's Sky NEXT” Update has brought quite a few welcome changes to the title that was once the only thing that the whole gaming world could talk about. Many of the features that were promised or hinted at before are finally here. While there have been some issues for the PC version of the game, Hello Games has provided a temporary fix that players can take advantage of, GameSpot reports.
Fans of the game can basically sign up for the “Experimental Branch” of it, which will give them a new “No Man's Sky NEXT” Update version. The issues that this temporary fix is meant to address include the bug that stopped players from converting obsolete technology with their exo-suit. This version is still in development and will be released once it has been finalized.
Unfortunately, not everyone can join in on one of the most enjoyable aspects to the “No Man's Sky NEXT” Update, with GOG.com players being locked out of the multiplayer mode. It would seem that a technical issue is preventing players who bought the game from the store from participating, Polygon reports. Even worse is how there is no definite timeline on when this can be fixed.
This is a problem because multiplayer was supposed to be one of the biggest features of the game when it launched and was one of the community’s greatest points of criticisms. The “No Man's Sky NEXT” Update has gone a long way to fix this problem, but it’s clear that Hello Games still has quite a lot of work to do.
