“No Man’s Sky” is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, so much so in fact that a delay caused fans to issue death threats because they couldn’t wait for the day they can play the massive sandbox title. Those fans can rejoice because “Hello Games” just announced that the game is finally done and they have the picture to prove it.
From the very beginning, “No Man’s Sky” has been plagued by practically every obstacle that game developers could face; from natural disasters, frequent power outages, a secret legal settlement over the use of the word “Sky” and finally, the legion of rabid fans bearing down their expectations on “Hello Games,” giving the developers no small amount of stress. But, as Gamespot reports, the development company has finally reached “Gold,” which means that they have finally completed the initial stages of the game.
In celebration of this milestone, the team over at “Hello Games” Tweeted a group selfie, which featured one guy chugging champagne and epic beards that showcased how much time they likely spent in the office making the game. More than the people, the picture also featured Sean Murray holding what appears to be the very first disc copy of a finished “No Man’s Sky” game, which likely signifies quite a bit of relief for the company.
It's happened. No Man's Sky just went gold. I'm so incredibly proud of this tiny team. 4 years of emotions pic.twitter.com/YJoI6JVgxq

“No Man’s Sky” is set for release on August 9, 2016, barring any unfortunate incident that could delay the game even more. The title is playable for the “PlayStation 4” and the PC, so gamers will finally be able to explore the infinite universe and lay claim to planets that other players will most likely never find.
This is the promise that the game holds for those who are looking forward to experiencing what is expected to be the definitive sandbox title of this generation.
