Former President Barack Obama accused President Donald Trump’s administration of contributing to rising costs at a Cleveland rally Saturday, Oct. 24, where he campaigned with Ohio Democrats ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

Obama linked the administration’s decisions to higher costs and singled out the war, calling it “an unnecessary war.” A C-SPAN recording captures him saying nobody had asked for it or voted for it. Those remarks were part of his campaign appearance with Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Sherrod Brown and gubernatorial nominee Dr. Amy Acton.

The Ohio Secretary of State’s candidate list identifies Brown and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jon Husted in the Senate race. For governor, the list names Acton and Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The office lists Nov. 3 as the state’s General/Special Election Day.

The Senate contest also featured in a campaign video released Oct. 13. A transcript posted by Brown’s campaign records Obama describing the race as close and saying it could determine which party controls the Senate.

EconoTimes previously covered Obama’s criticism of Trump over costs at the Cleveland rally.
