Although there is no definitive release date for the “Oculus Touch,” the motion controller that will be paired with the “Oculus Rift,” the company did promise that the controller will come with 30 games already compatible with it. The Verge reports that “Oculus” will be revealing what these games will be and how their touch controller will affect the experience for gamers come fall.
Some of the games that are already out will be included on the list of titles that are compatible with the “Oculus Touch.” These games include the rock climbing simulator fittingly titled “The Climb,” and games like “Job Simulator” are already available for the “HTC Vive.” However, “Oculus” promises that at least 20 of the games to be announced will be brand new and are specifically made to be compatible with the “Oculus Touch.”
According to the official post by “Oculus,” some of the games included will be the wizard dueling VR game “Unspoken” by the developers of “Ratchet and Clank,” along with “Rock Band VR” and “I Expect You To Die.” Right now, the title pool for the “Oculus Rift” is painfully limited and access to the device itself has been known to cause impatience among gamers who want to try the VR headset right now.
Among these titles, the one that is generating the most interest is “Unspoken.” The game revolves around the concept of urban duels between players, but instead of the usual fair of guns, bladed weapons, or hand-to-hand fighting, the players will instead duel using un-enchanted magic.
This concept alone makes “Unspoken” a unique variety in the industry dominated by action shooters and sword fighting games. Thanks to the touch controller compatibility, though, players will feel as if they are the ones who are casting the spells. Players will be able to draw runes as well, along with creating magical items.
