“One Piece” 927 will likely have the developing bond between Luffy and Eustass Kid as its main focus when it releases. The idea behind it would likely have to do with the necessity of the two characters growing to trust each other. From there, they might stir up the rest of the prisoners so that they can finally engineer an escape.
As readers have already seen in the previous chapter, it’s also clear that the rest of the Straw Hats are not staying idle while their captain is in custody. They are making plans to break him out, which should still be the case in “One Piece” 927. The only question now is which will come first in the upcoming story events.
So far, though, it’s clear that both Luffy and Kid have hit it off even though they have never been the chummiest of friends in the past. In fact, the only time that Luffy was even in the same place as Kid was when his whole crew was wiped out by Kuma. As such, this is not exactly the kind of friendship that anyone would have expected, and yet it’s exactly what might happen in “One Piece” 927.
This friendship could also be the key to finally defeating Kaido since it is clear that both of these pirates will want to take on the yonko once more. If they work together, they might just stand a chance at actually hurting him. Then again, none of this is guaranteed and would not likely happen in “One Piece” 927.
Scheduled to release next week, “One Piece” 927 will be hitting official manga portals on Dec. 7. For those who are interested in how the friendship between these two pirates goes, this is a good opportunity to find out. Will Luffy actually trust Kid?
