'One Piece' Chapter 912 Release Date and Spoiler Updates: Luffy May Be More Connected to Wano Than We Think

Image via One Piece Wiki

"One Piece" Chapter 912 seems to have gotten an exciting buildup from Chapter 911 that's sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Chapter 911 followed the separation of Luffy from the rest of the Straw Hat Pirate crew as they enter Wano Country.

Aside from splitting the party, "One Piece" Chapter 911 also introduced us to a new character. The young girl whom Luffy saved at the beach and who ended up charming the demonic Baboon may be more closely related to Luffy's past than expected.

After the battle at the beach, the young girl named O-Tama brought Luffy back to her master in the mountains. There she explained that she and her master have lived in isolation as she was undergoing training to become a kunoichi. After O-Tama repaid Luffy with rice she had saved for her birthday, a series of complications led O-Tama's master to open up about her to Luffy.

O-Tama's master told Luffy that she could have left Wano anytime she wanted rather than having to live in poverty. O-Tama, it seems, was waiting for a pirate that Luffy knows personally, specifically, his brother, Ace. There is the unfortunate problem that Ace, Luffy's adopted older brother, has been dead for at least two years since the events we are seeing unfold in Wano.

Beyond being name-dropped by O-Tama's master, how is Ace actually connected to Wano Country? We do know that Ace learned how to weave straw hats from his time in Wano country. Ace even made Little Oars Jr. his own kasa, a Japanese woven straw hat. Could the time Ace spent in Wano Country be unraveled by "One Piece" Chapter 912 and onwards?

There is also the possibility that "One Piece" Chapter 912 may not immediately answer these speculative questions and fans will end up getting an intermission episode featuring the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates crew instead.

"One Piece" Chapter 912 is set to confirm these questions in next week's issue of Shonen Jump, due for release on July 23. For a complete list of Shonen Jump issues release dates for 2018, you can check out Yonkouprod's post on their website.
