Wano is, indeed, a country wrapped up in unimaginable mysteries and “One Piece” chapter 919 will likely prove that once more. The teaser for the next manga installment stirs the question of whether or not Oden is alive or if the Straw Hats have only met the apparitions of Momonosuke and the other Kozuki clan members.
Before “One Piece” chapter 919, Law told Luffy about the "ghosts of Wano." Then an illustration of five graves named after Oden, Momonosuke, Kanjuro, Kinemon, and Raizo was shown.
However, this illustration just provided more questions than answers. In the present timeline of the series, all the mentioned Kozuki men except Oden are definitely alive. But why are they with Oden six feet under the ground? This is most likely the main storyline for “One Piece” chapter 919.
There are several speculations explaining this confusing teaser for “One Piece” chapter 919. One that makes sense involves a possible Devil Fruit that allows the Kozuki clan members’ spirits to wander into the future. While it sounds like a wild theory, it might somehow explain why an 8-year-old Momonosuke is buried beside his father Oden, who presumably died over 20 years ago.
It is also important to note that Oden’s death two decades ago has always been associated with his sacrifice to let Momonosuke and the other Kozuki men escape from Kaido. Momonosuke and his crew are gathering forces before they can go back to Wano and free the country from the Beasts Pirates. And, along the way, they became good allies to the Straw Hats. Considering all these just make the series's timeline more confusing. Hopefully, this will all be explained before “One Piece” chapter 919 reaches its final page.
Meanwhile, it might also be a bonus story for “One Piece” chapter 919 to reveal what happens to Speed after Tama used her Devil Fruit to tame the gifter centaur. Speed got lost in the picture once Luffy and the gang arrived at Okobore in chapter 918.
If Speed is now an ally to the protagonists, will she be coming with them to the Ruins of Oden’s Castle? “One Piece” chapter 919 will be officially released on Oct. 1.
