“One Piece” Episode 852 is out, and Luffy is still getting a serving of knuckle sandwiches. As one of the most powerful pirates in the new generation, the Straw Hat Pirates captain is not often completely outmatched. However, just as in the previous episode, “One Piece” Episode 852 sees him roundly outclassed by Katakuri. [Major Spoilers Ahead].
With both characters possessing the ability to stretch their bodies, Luffy and Katakuri should have been fighters of the same level. Unfortunately, as “One Piece” Episode 852 showed, this is just not the case. The Sweets Commander dominated him in this episode, Otaku Art points out, as he did before.
This is unfortunate, as well, because they are trapped in the mirror world. This means that Luffy has very little chance of escaping, especially since he is surrounded by so many of Mama’s subordinates. This is why “One Piece” Episode 852 is going to be a hard one to watch for viewers who have not seen it yet. As to why Katakuri is beating Luffy so badly, it has to do with his ability to see the future.
To be more precise, the commander can see a few seconds into the future, which is enough for him to predict the Straw Hat Pirate captain’s moves. Unlike the case when Luffy fought the gods in Skypiea, it isn’t his mind being read; it’s his eventual actions. This is why he can’t simply randomize his punches and hope for the best. This becomes clear in “One Piece” Episode 852.
For those who want to watch just how badly Luffy is getting beaten in “One Piece” Episode 852, it is now available to stream via official platforms. Viewers can choose Crunchyroll for this, which would help support the animation industry and everyone working passionately on projects like these. It’s always encouraged for fans to do their part in backing their favorite animes.
