“One Piece” Episode 858 features yet another session of Luffy and Katakuri getting in each other’s grills, with the former losing badly to the latter. Although the Straw Hats Pirate captain finally managed to land a punch on the Sweets Commander, it would seem that it wasn’t enough to end the fight. This time, Luffy will be getting a beat down using a move that involves donuts.
As OtakuKart notes, Luffy has lost his chance to deal a decisive blow on Katakuri the moment the Sweets Commander regained his composure. By calming down, he is once again the unstoppable fighting force that could predict attacks and thus, avoid damage. The result is that this is once again a one-sided battle in “One Piece” Episode 858, in which only one side appears to be taking hits.
Adding to Luffy’s bad luck is the fact that Katakuri is now taking the fight more seriously. This involves using an attack in “One Piece” Episode 858 that look like donuts with arms. Combined with the fact that he can only use Gear 4th for a limited period of time, Luffy is in a pinch that forces him to run away. Thanks to him stumbling upon Brulee, the Straw Hats captain is actually able to do so.
Unfortunately, his escape landed him in Nuts Island, where he comes face to face with Big Mom once again. At this time, Sanji is also trying to create a cake that will calm the Pirate Emperor down so that she will stop eating everything in her surroundings. Suffice it to say, there is a whole lot going on in “One Piece” Episode 858, as this preview clip shows.
“One Piece” Episode 858 is scheduled to air on Oct. 21. This episode will bring the show one step closer to finally getting out of the Big Mom arc.
