With barely four months left before the premiere of “One Punch Man” season 2, an all-new promo video was released. Of course, the producers would not risk spoiling any of the plot details so fans can only expect a very short glimpse on some of the main characters in the returning anime series.
This should not come as a shock but the latest “One Punch Man” season 2 starts by showing Saitama and closes by giving a sneak peek on the next main villain Garou. As reported earlier, one of the speculated arcs covered in 2019 is the Tournament Arc where Saitama would disguise himself with a wig. Unfortunately, the latest promo video did not confirm that yet.
All the characters previewed in the “One Punch Man” season 2 trailer released this week was given a one-liner description. And these taglines most likely sum up their main purpose or what to expect from them in the upcoming episodes. Saitama’s is self-explanatory as he is dubbed “The Man Who Became Too Strong."
“The Cyborg on a Quest for Vengeance” is what describes the adventures of Genos in “One Punch Man” season 2. Meanwhile, King retains the “Most Powerful Man on Earth” title. His appearance in season 1 was rather brief so viewers have yet to see his caring nature towards Saitama as shown in the manga series.
Saitama sometimes admits to feeling lost and confused about his purpose. In the manga series, these are the some of the times when King would invite Saitama to play video games or just relax. Hopefully, this side of their relationship will be part of “One Punch Man” season 2 as well.
Fans will also see more of Fubuki’s The Blizzard Group in “One Punch Man” season 2. The organization has been persistent in making Saitama one of their own. Will they finally succeed this time? Speed-o’-Sound Sonic is not just a villain, he is also a self-declared forever rival of Saitama. So his blurb “The Ninja Who Hunts the Secret of Saitama’s Strength” is pretty telling what his goals would be in the second season.
Lastly, there is Garou. He appears in the promo video to remind everyone that he will be on a killing spree targeting heroes. “One Punch Man” season 2 is slated to premiere in April 2019.
