Fans looking forward to “Outlander” season 4 news at the New York Comic-Con got a pleasant surprise that any die-hard “Outlander” fan would have enjoyed considering the long shadow of droughtlander since the show's last season.

The number one change that fans will notice about the “Outlander” season 4 opening sequence is the shift towards moments that feature the North American landscape. There are scenes which feature the local wildlife, the North American natives, and shots of Aunt Jocasta's (Maria Doyle Kennedy) Riverrun mansion. The scenes are a mix of potential encounters that fans will experience as “Outlander” season 4 progresses and set pieces which show the Americana influence.
Interestingly, aside from scenes from Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser's (Caitriona Balfe) timeline, fans will notice some scenes from a modern-day Scottish festival featuring the new opening sequence. While Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin – who play Brianna Fraser and Roger McKenzie, respectively – are currently not billed in the opening sequence, the modern-day scenes tease the more important role that Jamie and Claire Fraser's daughter and potential son-in-law will play in “Outlander” season 4.
Aside from the visuals, fans will also notice that the Bear McCreary rendition of the Scottish folk song “The Skye Boat Song" has received a re-imagining for “Outlander” season 4 as well. Fans will remember that the same song received an arrangement variation in “Outlander's” previous installment which heavily featured Carribean influences considering the season's setting.
Fans looking forward to the latest adventures of Jamie and Claire Fraser and their kin can look forward to “Outlander” season 4 when it airs its season premiere episode on Nov. 4.
