Many video game fans have been hoping to switch to new-generation consoles, like the Sony PlayStation 5, but the problem with limited supplies remains. Luckily, people who have yet to purchase a PS5 are getting huge help from reliable restock trackers online.

PS5 restock: Where to look for available consoles

Months of tracking the waves of PS5 restock, as observed by reliable sources online, is now helping gaming fans to determine when the next likely drop is happening. And several well-known trackers suggest multiple retailers in the United States might offer some units of the console on Thursday, May 20.

One of those reliable trackers has been TechRadar’s Matt Swider, and he recently shared an email from Sony Direct about an invitation to join the queue for a PS5 restock on Thursday, “starting 12pm PT.” While the message sent implies queuing is by invitation only, Swider suggests it could later open for everyone.

A Twitter user has also shared a chat with Walmart’s customer support where the retailer’s representative stated that a “PS5 / Xbox Console Sale Event” is slated on Thursday, May 20 at around 2 p.m. Central Time / 12 p.m. PT. While Jake Randall, another notable PS5 restock tracker, noted, “These customer service chats aren’t always accurate so it’s not a sure thing, but tomorrow is looking promising.”

In the same post from Swider, he also tagged Walmart as one of the possible retailers to have an available console on Thursday, along with Best Buy. However, both Swider and Randall are not too confident about a Target PS5 restock on that day. But the former tipped that if ever Target is having any available console online, it could go live in the early part of the day.

PS5 limited supply may not ease up anytime soon

Following PS5 restock trackers like Swider and Randall on Twitter may be one of the best ways to get the console without relying on scalpers for the foreseeable future. Sony has reportedly mentioned recently that it does not expect the demand to slow down throughout the year. But the company does not expect production to keep up anytime soon, so PS5 restocks through legitimate retailers might remain tight through 2022.
