The development of “PUBG Mobile” is entering a major milestone in the coming weeks that developers fittingly call the mobile battle royale game’s “new era.” Version 1.0 is finally confirmed to launch in early September, but Tencent wants to keep a few more surprises while leaving out Erangel 2.0 from the official announcement.
‘PUBG Mobile’ 1.0 release date, how to download
Tencent released a video announcement on Monday confirming that “PUBG Mobile” 1.0 will be released soon. While the video did not explicitly refer to Sept. 8 as the development update’s release date, the teaser encouraged fans to login to the game on the said date. That could only mean one thing, and that is to mark the start of the game’s “new era.”
Even though “PUBG Mobile” 1.0 is not the same as other patch notes released in previous months, the way to install it is very likely the same. Again, it is best to follow the developers’ advice and login to the game on Sept. 8 because if that is when the update rolls out, it should be accessible through an over-the-air update.
‘PUBG Mobile’ 1.0 features: Is it finally the time for Erangel 2.0’s debut?
The same video briefly explained the primary changes, improvements, and new features that will be released through “PUBG Mobile” 1.0. But at the end of the video, the teaser directs fans’ attention to an unidentified update that was only described as a “long-awaited surprise.”
Despite the attempt at being mysterious, many gamers are already expecting that the surprise in “PUBG Mobile” 1.0 would be the Erangel 2.0 update. It has been more than a year since the map improvement was announced. Fans have yet to hear a straight answer on why other map updates were released before Erangel 2.0 but it now makes sense for developers to release it along with the version 1.0 of the game.
The “PUBG Mobile” 1.0 announcement video only increases the expectations on Erangel 2.0 as the development update is big on delivering more “realistic” graphics and animations. One particular improvement to look forward to is the enhancement of the game’s lighting systems making the shadows, sun rays, and reflection of objects on water appear more vivid and real. Erangel 2.0 should benefit from this new tech greatly.
