TROUTDALE, Ore., Aug. 28, 2016 -- Expertise.com announced that they have selected Paws & Claws Pet Medical Center in Troutdale as one of the best veterinary hospitals in Portland. Veterinarian Dr. Ken DeRemer said he and his entire team is thrilled to earn this distinction and plans to continue offering the services that put them on the list in the first place. Expertise.com is a service that monitors customer reviews and researches each business’ reputation, experience, credibility and other factors so that consumers can make an informed choice when they select a veterinarian or other local business.
“Making this list is very gratifying for us as a family-owned business; it means we've lived up to our commitment to treat all of the animals and their families to the very best of our abilities,” said Dr. DeRemer. “To us it’s not just about winning awards, though. We just really love our patients and we love our jobs. Every day we are able to help animals stay healthy or survive a life-threatening situation is a good day for us.”
The Expertise.com website said it takes several factors into account when selecting a Portland vet for their list. They immediately disqualify any vet with negative reviews from the selection process. Then they use a software algorithm to pare down the list based on criteria like experience, reputation, availability, credibility, engagement and professionalism. After narrowing the field with software algorithms, their staff personally investigates the reputation of vets on the short list to be certain they have rightly earned a place on their “Best Portland Veterinarians” list.
Dr. DeRemer began Paws & Claws Pet Medical Center as a veterinary house call service in the early 1990’s. His reputation for caring for pets of all kinds grew to the point where he needed a more permanent and technologically-advanced location to serve his patients. The animal hospital in Troutdale opened in 1994 to fulfill that demand. Over the years, Portland veterinarians Dr. Christina Huntsinger and Dr. Monica Pollock joined the team and the hospital has been growing ever since.
“Each of us here, from the veterinarians down to the client service reps, has great passion for the health and wellbeing of our animals and their families,” said Dr. DeRemer. “That passion is what drives us to provide the best care for our patients every day, whether they have fur, scales or feathers. We’re glad to make the list, and we’re just going to keep doing our very best every day.”
