TUCSON, Ariz., April 16, 2018 -- HPC USER FORUM - Penguin Computing, provider of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, enterprise data center and cloud solutions, today announced that Senior Vice President of Federal Systems Sid Mair will be speaking at the HPC User Forum in Tucson, Arizona on April 18, 2018.
On the third day of the conference, Mair will speak on the Innovative Technologies Panel. He will provide key insights about the groundbreaking advances that are enabled by high-performance computing (HPC) systems and accelerated through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Overwhelmed by massive data challenges, today’s businesses, academic, and government entities are increasingly motivated to deploy flexible, scalable and cost-effective infrastructure to streamline operational inefficiencies and bring innovation to market.
As both 2017 NVIDIA partner of the year for HPC and 2017 Intel partner of the year for cloud solutions, Penguin Computing is in a unique position to help customers design, build, and deploy HPC-based solutions that foster this type of innovation across a variety of market segments including healthcare, physics-based sciences (like weather modeling), design-based sciences (like engineering), military systems, and other important areas within the Federal space.
Mair joined Penguin Computing in 2015 and brings more than 30 years of business experience, including a significant record of increasing government market revenues for private sector companies. He’s served in leadership positions as CEO, President, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Director of Business Development, Regional/District Sales Manager and in direct selling roles with several companies. His background involves leading across all aspects of the federal market, including the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and civilian agencies in both classified and unclassified areas, as well the Executive and Congressional branches of government. He began his career at NASA and has led organizations in the computing industry across a wide range of hardware and software technologies, primarily in the High Performance Computing markets.
The HPC User Forum was established in 1999 to promote the health of the global HPC industry and address issues of common concern to users. The organization has grown to 150 members and is directed by a volunteer steering committee of users from government, industry and academia, and operated for the users. The HPC User Forum holds two full-membership meetings a year in the United States and two meetings annually in international locations.
