‘Pete’s Dragon’ released its new UK trailer as well as a behind-the-scenes featurette styled as a mockumentary. Bryce Dallas-Howard, who plays the lead human protagonist Grace, recalled her memorable meeting with co-star Robert Redford.
According to Collider, Disney unveiled brand new promotional material for the upcoming fantasy-adventure remake of the 1977 live-action and animated musical film of the same name. A new UK trailer debuted together with a video highlighting the score composed by Daniel Hart that featured Lindsey Stirling’s violin work.
A new behind-the-scenes featurette styled as a mockumentary also dropped ahead of the film’s scheduled premiere for August 12. In the featurette entitled “Behind the Wings”, Bryce Dallas-Howard was asked what it was like working with Elliot the dragon. She joked, “It was magical. Right? It was so magical, which is tricky. You know, I mean, he is a 20-foot tall fuzzy green sometimes invisible dragon.”
The hilarious video also showed scenes of cast and crew tidying up after the fictional creature. Dallas-Howard is also seen eating a snack but eventually chokes on a green hair ball. Other scenes showed Elliot wreaking some havoc on set.
Dallas-Howard plays forest ranger Grace Meacham. She is joined by Robert Redford who plays her on-screen father, Oakes Fegley who plays the young orphan Pete, Wes Bentley who plays lumber mill owner Jack, Onna Laurence who plays Jack’s daughter Natalie, and John Kassir who voices Elliot the Dragon.
According to the Daily Mail, the 35-year old actress recalled her first memorable meeting with Redford. She said, “Our first scene we were running together from a great distance. I started that run and thinking, "I'm running towards Robert Redford." And I barrelled into him. He said, "You came at me like a cannonball!" I'm like, "Nice to meet you." That's how I would meet somebody!”
‘Pete’s Dragon’ is an upcoming adventure-fantasy film co-written and directed by David Lowery. It is a remake of the original 1977 film and is produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It is scheduled to be released on August 12, 2016.
The 1977 film received mixed to positive reviews and grossed $36 million in the USA upon its release on an estimated production budget of $10 million.
