In collaboration with Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies, and Point Grey Productions, Pizza Hut unveils its unique 'Underground Deliveries' service. This creative campaign, which serves as a promotional tie-in with the upcoming “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” film, involves delivering pizzas via designated drop zones within Manhattan subway stations.
Pizza Hut further shared this campaign spans include television, social media, digital, experiential, and other in-restaurant segments. As per Business Insider, for these activities, the pizza chain teamed up with Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies and Point Grey Productions.
The "Underground Deliveries" will run for a limited time only. Select customers in Manhattan who will text a turtle emoji to a dedicated delivery hotline will get their pizzas delivered via the Pizza Drop Zone installed within a subway station. Once the order is placed, Pizza Hut will prepare the pizza and deliver it to the mentioned designated drop zone.
The location is within the subway as this is the fictional home of the famous Ninja Turtle characters - Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. Moreover, the boxes of Pizza Hut will feature the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” theme as well. There will also be a QR code that will bring customers to a mobile augmented reality (AR) game.
Starting June 21, customers in NYC can use the Underground Deliveries and have the chance to win prizes, including free pizzas. For the AR game, prizes also await players. The “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” is set to be released across the U.S. on Aug. 2.
“Pizza Hut and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have a longstanding history that goes back to the ‘90s. Bringing the two together again for a new generation was a no-brainer,” Pizza Hut’s chief marketing officer, Lindsay Morgan, said in a press release. “With this new collaboration, we wanted to pay homage to the Turtles’ origins and their love of pizza, while also infusing modern touchpoints and a fun, creative take on pizza deliveries – in real life and through augmented reality gaming.”
