Dunkin’ has been offering Planet Oat’s oat milk since 2020, transforming its menu with creamy, dairy-free options. Dunkin' caters to vegans and lactose-intolerant customers nationwide with various flavor shots and milk alternatives.

Planet Oat Oat Milk Enhances Dunkin's Menu with Creamy, Dairy-Free Options for All

Dunkin' is not particularly renowned for the best-tasting coffee, nor is its espresso considered extraordinary. However, that’s easily remedied with a splash of milk and sweetener. Thanks to Planet Oat, customers can pair their favorite Dunkin’ flavor shots with oat milk, making their drinks dairy-free. From vanilla and toasted almond to blueberry and hazelnut, Dunkin' offers a variety of options that cater to everyone, including the vegan and lactose-intolerant crowd. Still, this credit goes to the brand behind the oat milk.

According to Tasting Table, since 2020, Dunkin' has been offering Planet Oat's oat milk, making it one of the first coffee chains to introduce it nationwide. Planet Oat blends oats and water with essential nutrients like calcium and vitamins A, D, and B to create a creamy, neutral-tasting milk alternative. While Dunkin' also carries other milk substitutes, such as coconut and almond milk, Planet Oat oat milk stands out as it is free from tree nuts and dairy, making it more inclusive. Available in original, extra creamy, vanilla, and chocolate varieties, Planet Oat’s oat milk can also be found at most local grocery stores, allowing customers to recreate their favorite Dunkin' drinks at home without the dairy.

Oat Milk Becomes the Go-To Dairy Substitute at Dunkin’, But Flavor Swirls Contain Dairy

Dunkin' offers a wide array of beverages and flavor options, and customers can substitute dairy milk with oat milk in any of them, likely without noticing any significant difference in flavor or texture. This has made oat milk the preferred alternative for many baristas. However, vegans and those who are lactose intolerant need to note that all of Dunkin’s flavor swirls—except for the mocha—contain dairy. Flavor swirls like caramel, vanilla, hazelnut, and seasonal offerings such as peppermint, pumpkin spice, or butter pecan will need to be substituted to be completely dairy-free.

In the past, Dunkin' has featured oat milk drinks on its menu, such as the brown sugar oat iced latte and brown sugar shaken espresso, though both were seasonal and have since been discontinued. Nevertheless, customers can still craft their beverages using the available flavor shots, which are dairy-free. Oat milk's neutral taste and creamy texture pair well with virtually any flavor, from the dairy-free mocha swirl to the hazelnut flavor shot or from the classic vanilla syrup to the summer favorite blueberry syrup. For those who enjoy a touch of dairy, nothing prevents them from indulging in an iced caramel signature latte with oat milk, a whipped cream topping, or any other beverage they choose.
