Adidas would release Damian Lillard's Dame 8 shoe, which is the brand's first sustainable basketball sneaker, in December.
The Portland Trail Blazers guard first teased the shoe during August's alumni exhibition game at Weber State.
Fifty percent recycled materials, synthetic overlays, and mesh paneling make up the entire upper part of the shoe.
The Dame 8 also differs from its predecessors in the cushioning solution found at the midsole, with Lighstrike replacing the Bounce Pro foam.
The new solution has similar qualities to the one it's replacing. However, its dual-density foam provides an ideal balance between energy return, cushioning, and support to address issues that arise during the end of the season.
The Dame 8's outsole is slightly modified from the Dame 7, though the outermost parts have the same tread pattern.
The upcoming sneakers also feature more padding and nods to the Lillard at the heel.
However, the Dame 8 exhibits a shape similar to the two previous Damian Lillard shoes and color-blocking, logo placement, and material layout.
