PlayStation 5 is set to be launched soon and to spread the word about the newest gaming console, Sony started its marketing scheme and it was a hit. The tech company just released PS5’s very first ad campaign titled “Play has no Limits” and it has already gained over a million views as of writing.
PS5’s new ad campaign
This is PlayStation’s first global campaign as PS5 is set to be released in November. As per USA Today, more than 70 artists specializing in visual effects have worked on this single project created by Clarissa Dale and John Trainer-Tobin.
The ad was reported to have been directed by Dan DiFelice through Biscuit Filmworks. It opened with a woman walking through an ice cave then a voiceover could be heard as she walks.
“Welcome to a world where you can feel more,” the voiceover said in the PlayStation 5 ad video. Then the ice broke and a giant monster with huge tentacles emerged and the woman started to run away from it. The voiceover continues: “A world where you can see through sounds..a world where you can feel force at your fingertips. Welcome to a new world of immersion.”
The explosive scenes in the ad clearly try to highlight PlayStation 5’s unique immersive technology and Sony has succeeded. Mary Yee, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s global marketing vice president, said that they are committed to improving the gamers’ experience and fulfill their expectations as much as they can.
“Today, I am pleased to share with you our first global spot for PlayStation that showcases some of the immersive gameplay you will experience on the new PS5 console,” Yee said in the press release that was published on PlayStation’s blog. “In our first global digital ad for the PS5 console, you’ll see the new console’s features come to life through a young woman’s eyes and her movements.”

Sony already released a number of information about PlayStation 5 like the console’s accessories, features and more. However, it has yet to be revealed when exactly it will be hitting the shelves. The company only vaguely mentioned that it will be out in “Holiday 2020” so they still have to announce an official date.
