Many tech fans around the world were counting on Pocophone F2 to be announced this year. While Xiaomi and its sub-brand Poco are still mum on the device’s arrival, the rumor mill is not. Several specs speculations over the past months mostly agreed that the unconfirmed device could offer 6GB RAM as a standard memory specification.
Pocophone F2 specs rumors: What to expect
Pocophone F2’s predecessor, which came out in summer 2018, was a success in the market because its price was not intimidating while it sports some powerful components. For less than $300, smartphone fans were given a chance to own a device that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. The mobile processor was commonly found on high-end devices that also come with steep prices.
Additionally, the first Poco device had a standard 6GB RAM and an option to upgrade to 8GB RAM within the said price range. Since these are what appealed the most to consumers, many are expecting to see the same caliber of technical specs on Pocophone F2.
In GizmoChina’s roundup of rumored Pocophone F2 specs, the yet-to-be-announced device is anticipated to have the same 6GB and 8GB RAM configurations and storage options between 64GB to 256GB. However, the report lists a potential price increase anticipating the device to cost just below $450.
Again, it should be noted that these bits of information are just speculations. Nothing official has been said yet about Pocophone F2.
Pocophone F2 release date: Fans still anticipate the device’s arrival despite being no-show in 2019
Another indication that the Pocophone F2’s predecessor made a great impression is the fact that many fans still look forward to the new Poco device to arrive. That is despite the fact that Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K20 series that some think is the successor of Pocophone F1.
The official Poco India Twitter page posted an update earlier this week about the addition of MIUI 11 on the Pocophone F1. But replies to the tweet are mostly about Pocophone F2. Unfortunately, fans have yet to receive a reply.

While Pocophone F2 is now unlikely to be announced this year, 2020 could be a different story. It would make sense for Xiaomi to announce a much-awaited device early next year as Apple is heavily rumored to join the budget smartphone competition again with the release of iPhone SE 2.
