Several Shiny Pokémon have been added to the “Pokémon GO” roster, the developers recently confirmed. Meanwhile, trainers were also provided with more ways to earn Evolution Stones.

Niantic Labs recognized on Monday that many “Pokémon GO” trainers started encountering recently added Shiny Pokémon. In a social media post on Twitter, the developer said, “Trainers, we’re getting reports from trainers discovering Shiny Pokémon such as Natu and Sunkern. Have you had a Shiny encounter?”

Then, one “Pokémon GO” trainer replied to the tweet by sharing a screenshot of her game. The Twitter user confirmed reports that Pineco has also arrived in the game.

With that, three Pokémon are confirmed to be in “Pokémon GO” right now. GameSpot then noted that each of the Pokémon can evolve into their own Shiny Pokémon forms.

When evolved, the Natu, Sunkern, and Pineco become Shiny Pokémon, namely the Xatu, Sunflora, and Forretress, respectively. But there are required items to be able to transform these into Shiny Pokémon. For example, “Pokémon GO” trainers will need 50 Candy plus one Sun Stone to evolve the Sunkern into Sunflora.

The Evolution Stones were added later in “Pokémon GO” and there used to be very few ways to earn them. But since the addition of these Shiny Pokémon is part of the limited-time Johto Region event, Niantic Labs has since given trainers more access to the Evolution Stones.

The Johto Festival arrived with the Celebi Special Research quest. And each task completed will reward “Pokémon GO” trainers with rare Evolution items. Finishing step 2 and step 3 of the said quest rewards trainers with a Sun Stone and a King’s Rock, respectively. In the following steps, players will receive a Metal Coat, an Up-Grade, and a Dragon Scale.

Although it seems like there are a lot of tasks involved, completing the task is still a much easier way to earn Evolution Stones than before. Prior to the release of the quest, “Pokémon GO” trainers can only earn Evolution Stones for sure after checking into a PokéStop and spin for rewards for seven days.
