The latest character posters for Season 2 of AMC’s supernatural series “Preacher” has been released.
The new, movie-like posters feature the core three characters and series regulars Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and the vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), Empire Online noted. The posters used such strong colors and opted to showcase the profiles of Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy, who each captivated audiences for their performances as a “trio thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between” in the Vertigo Comics TV small screen adaptation, also showed the second installment’s release, which is on June 25.
The character posters are not the only ones that sent fans into excitement. Earlier on, Negga confirms that, at least for Tulip and Cassidy, their hopes for a “lovely adventure” will soon be dashed in the upcoming season. She told Entertainment Weekly, “It’s a road trip that goes horribly wrong. Tulip’s expecting a great fun time, like a road trip you take with your friends, and it doesn’t end up quite like that. Tulip’s not that interested in looking for God; I don’t think she really believes in it. But unfortunately, her soul mate is Jesse and that’s what he wants. Tulip and Cassidy don’t really have any other options. He’s a vampire and she’s on the lam her whole life. Their only option is to go on the road with this other miscreant who they expect will show them a good time — but just doesn’t.”
Actor Seth Rogen, who comes in as an executive producer, also hinted that they will finally be showing some similarities in the comics in Season 2, unlike in Season 1, of which he claims it as a necessary prequel to develop Jesse’s character. He explained to Variety, ““Tons and tons of conversations is how we decide what to keep and what to change. Sam (Catlin, the showrunner for “Preacher”) and the writers talk at length about every aspect of the comics about what to keep and what to change, and how to keep it and how to change it.”
