The DLC of the sci-fi shooter RPG “Prey” was finally revealed during Bethesda’s E3 2018 presentation. Called “Mooncrash,” it features adventures on the lunar surface. These adventures can go on an infinite loop if the players want, and numerous elements are different every time. Not only will the objectives change with each replay, the loot will be different as well.
Bethesda has been teasing fans of the game with hints of this DLC for a long time, and now, it’s finally come to fruition. As Kotaku notes, the content is available right now for download, and players might want to get started as soon as possible.
There are multiple characters to unlock, each of which will possess their own unique set of skills. Players will then use these skills to escape a TransStar moon base, which is being overrun by Typhon. For those who are uninitiated in the world of “Prey,” the Typhon are basically the gooey enemies of the game. They mimic objects to hide in plain sight before attacking.
As Arkane Studios, the developer of the game, notes on the Steam page of the DLC, “Mooncrash” offers something different with each replay. This makes the value of the new content practically endless from a single-player standpoint.
“Escape TranStar’s moon base before the Typhon threat takes over. A simple goal, but one with hundreds of viable solutions. In Mooncrash, players will experience an all-new, infinitely replayable, ‘rogue-lite’ campaign with ever-changing enemies, weapons and objectives against a constantly increasing alien threat,” the page reads.
Other than the DLC, the main game in “Prey” also got an upgrade. These include a story mode, new game plus, and survival mode. The story mode is basically for those who only want to experience the narrative without undue complications. Naturally, survival mode means the game will crank up the difficulty to 11.
New game plus will simply mean that players can return to the game with some of the items or skills they already possess. This should make for an interesting second run.
