Princess Diana would have been 59 years old this year if she was still alive. However, it has been 23 years since she passed away due to a tragic car accident in Paris. She has been gone for more than two decades, and it was said that her dying wish has been revealed.
What the Princess of Wales wants
As per the report coming from In Touch, Princess Diana wanted her son, Prince William, to be crowned as the King in the British Monarch. Everyone knows that her ex-husband Prince Charles is the first in line to the throne, and his eldest child is the second, so it was suggested that she wants William to take the throne instead of his father.
This is the Princess of Wales’ dying wish, and she reportedly revealed this when she was interviewed by BBC’s “Panorama” in 1995. In the conversation with the interviewer, Martin Bashir, it was alleged that she suggested that Prince Charles should not be a King.
The publication further alleged that Prince Charles is really worried that Princess Diana’s supposed dying wish would come true because right now, Prince William is being adored by the public.
“Prince Charles already has major insecurities about his popularity being compared to William’s,” the insider told the magazine. “The public adores William and Queen Elizabeth has little interest in handing over the title, and you can see why Prince Charles is worried that Diana’s wish will come true.”
The truth of Princess Di’s revenge from the grave
The outlet further suggested that this is Princess Diana’s revenge from the grave but is this true? Did she say her wish is for Prince William to take over the crown from Prince Charles?
Gossip Cop declared this allegation as false. This is because in the first place, while William is really more popular than his father, this has no effect on the succession to the throne. Once Queen Elizabeth vacates her throne, it will be Prince Charles who will take over, and no one can change this, not even Princess Diana, who has no power to do so even if she is still alive today.
Also, from the interview that was the source of the allegation, GC explained that Bashir’s question to Princess Diana was if she wants his son to be King instead of Prince Charles and her reply was: “You have to see that William's very young at the moment, so do you want a burden like that to be put on his shoulders at such an age? So I can't answer that question."
Finally, it is clear that the In Touch report presented the interview in the wrong way to create this story about Princess Diana’s supposed wish. The verdict is that this is a phony report.
