‘Prison Break’ season 5’s episode 1, titled “Ogygia,” will pick up seven years after Michael Scofield was presumed dead and buried. Lincoln and Sara are set to work together to uncover truths and help free Michael from captivity in Yemen.
The synopsis for episode 1 of the ‘Prison Break’ revival posted on TV Guide reads, “It's been seven years since Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) was presumed dead, but when clues suggest that he might still be alive, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) reunites with Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) to help track down the truth.
The path leads them to Yemen, as Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), T-Bag (Robert Knepper) and C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar) are pulled back into the action to engineer their biggest escape ever in the season premiere.”
The much-anticipated upcoming season premiere of the American serial drama created by Paul Scheuring is set to pick up seven years after the last season. Fox’s revival reveals that Michael is actually alive despite being presumed dead. Purcell’s Lincoln is set to reunite with Callies’ Sara in search of the truth, with the series moving out of the United States setting and into the Middle East.
According to Deadline, the series’ revival will open to the revelation of Michael’s survival but that he is currently held captive in Yemen. His freedom lies in the hands of Lincoln and Sara.
Miller expressed his thoughts on returning as Michael during a WonderCon panel. He said, “Michael Scofield lives in me, and I think always will, courtesy of playing him for four seasons, but I’m a different man now.”
He continued, “When we shot the original, I was 33, 34, so I knew that I had a whole lot of life experience to bring to the table. I think that is one of the things I’m really satisfied to see on screen, is that Michael looks like he’s seen some sh*t—and that’s reflective of the fact that I have, too.”
‘Prison Break’ season 5’s episode 1, titled “Ogygia,” is scheduled to air on Fox on April 4, 2017. It was directed by Nelson McCormick and written by Paul Scheuring. It will be followed by episode 2, titled "Kaniel Outis," directed by Maja Vrvilo and scheduled to be released on April 11.
