“Prison Break” season 6 is coming back for sure and there is some good news for fans who have been waiting for a long time already. There is a new update about who will be returning to the American drama created by Paul Scheuring.

EconoTimes previously mentioned that “Prison Break” season 6 has been confirmed to return. The confirmation came after fans expressed worry that it would not be given another chance to continue. But yes, it was renewed for another season in January and the announcement was made during the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

It was divulged that getting all the actors back together for “Prison Break” season 6 was not an easy task for the production team. In fact, they seem to point out that this was one of the main reasons for the series’ delayed return.

“The entire cast is booked on other shows, so they had to squeeze a whole series into their breaks," "Prison Break’s" Writers Room (via Digital Spy) tweeted last year.

According to Paul Scheuring, the reason for not returning sooner was that they kept extending the show so there were no more new stories to tell.

“Part of the problem with the original show was that we had to keep flapping our wings and keep extending,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “I feel like the fans suffered for that because, at some point, you run out of the narrative and you start making up stuff that’s lesser quality.”

However, Scheuring later softened and seemed to have rephrased his words to appease the fans who were demanding for “Prison Break” season 6. “We as a group have to arrive at a story that we feel is worth telling,” he said.

Plot

For “Prison Break” season 6, Fox’s entertainment president, Michael Thorn, said that they received a pitch regarding the approach to the next installment but they do not have the outline for the first episode yet. But one thing he is certain about is that the brothers Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) and Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) are still going to be at the center of the story.

Cast

The people behind “Prison Break” season 6 keep mentioning the cast’s schedules to be a problem so they cannot confirm who are returning. But in a new update, OtakuKArt reported that both Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are officially coming back for the series’ sixth installment.

As for the others, we may still see Sarah Wayne Callies (Sara Tancredi-Scofield), Amaury Nolasco (Sucre), Robert Knepper (T-Bag), Rockmond Dunbar (C-Note) and Inbar Lavi (Sheba) as support actors.

Air Date

“Prison Break” season 6 is still in production so Fox has no date for its premiere yet. But followers of the show predicted that it may come in spring of 2019 as the previous seasons were also released around this time.
