On Aug. 18, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra surprised their fans when they announced their engagement. While the two celebrities have only been dating for a couple of months, they feel comfortable speeding things up deciding to tie the knot, Inquisitr reported.
Nick Jonas even flew to India alongside his parents to attend the traditional Roka ceremony, a simple event that starts off a Punjabi wedding and attended by close family members. However, an exact date hasn’t been given when the “Jealous” singer and Priyanka Chopra are getting married despite reports claiming it will take place this October.
Even Priyanka Chopra’s mother has confirmed that no wedding will take place this year and it will likely happen in 2019. Nick Jonas reportedly popped the question during Priyanka Chopra’s 36th birthday, which she celebrated in London.
Following the engagement, Priyanka Chopra opted to drop out of her film “Bharat," which was supposed to start filming soon. Perhaps the “Baywatch” actress wants to have some breathing room after Nick Jonas proposed as she’s also involved in another film, “The Sky Is Pink,” although the movie will soon wrap up production
Details regarding the nuptials are scarce at the moment and most of them are mere speculations. It seems that Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra want to keep everything private for the time being as they plan the next best step moving forward.
As for their respective families and friends, it seems that they’re quite happy for the couple. Priyanka Chopra’s cousin, Parineeti Chopra, is over the moon for her. Meanwhile, Nick Jonas’s parents supposedly gifted Priyanka with a diamond bracelet that was given during their visit to India for the Roka ceremony.
The Bollywood actress was recently spotted with Nick Jonas when they went out for dinner and photos began circulating on social media highlighting the bracelet along with her new ring. According to reports, Nick Jonas even shut down the Tiffany and Co. store in New York to buy the ring, which supposedly cost around $200,000.
Although everything seems to have been rushed, Nick Jonas is apparently glowing with happiness following the engagement. A source who spoke with People said that Nick’s friends have never seen him this happy. As for Priyanka Chopra, she’s also swooning over her recent engagement and is expressing her joy in several social media posts.
