Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hoped to live in Windsor Castle after their 2018 wedding, Sunday Times Royal Editor Roy Nikkah claimed.
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Reportedly Wanted to Live in Windsor
Though Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved into Frogmore Cottage after officially tying the knot, they allegedly had their eyes on an even grander royal residence. However, the Mirror reported that Queen Elizabeth II declined their request.
Hugo Vickers also told the Daily Express that the late monarch rejected Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s request due to concerns the castle was not appropriate. "There are empty bedrooms and suites in the private apartments within Windsor Castle, which the Sussexes may have had their eye on, or perhaps some former living quarters in the castle grounds converted into other things. But I can see how it might not be entirely appropriate to have a young family living there, he wrote.
Most, if not all, fans are aware that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry live in Montecito after leaving the royal life in 2020. Windsor Castle, which has been a royal house for generations, was the late Queen Elizabeth's preferred location in her later years. There are generations of royals buried there, including the previous monarch and her husband, Prince Philip.
Both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to comment on these claims. So, devoted supporters of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should take all these unverified reports with a pinch of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
Meghan Markle’s Ex-Friend Says King Charles Must Shut Down Her Memoirs
Meanwhile, Lizzie Cundy was forced to speak out after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were mocked in a recent episode of “Family Guy.” In a recent interview, the 55-year-old socialite and TV personality pleaded with King Charles to "intervene" and "put a stop to her memoirs."
“Enough now of their moaning and whinging, all they do is backstab and make a career out of complaining,” Lizzie told The Mirror. She went on to imply that the U.K. was now a "laughing stock" across the pond, citing “Family Guy” series’ latest Meghan Markle and Prince Harry parody.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were depicted poolside on sun loungers in the cartoon. “Babe, time to do our daily $250,000 sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco,” Meghan Markle told Prince Harry in the skit.
Lizzie expressed concern that the Royal Family might become an even bigger target if Meghan Markle released her own shocking memoir. Lizzie even addressed Meghan directly when she instructed her to "put down the pen."
The socialite stated that the Royal Family "can't take it anymore" while the British people had had "enough." Lizzie then delivered a direct message to the King, asking him to "grow a backbone" and "tell her straight."
For starters, Meghan Markle and Lizzie Cundy were claimed to have met at a charity event in 2013 and became friends.
