NETANYA, Israel, Dec. 04, 2017 -- RADA Electronic Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq:RADA) announced today that its extended version of its Multi-mission Hemispheric Radar - ieMHR, has been selected by a leading global defense company after conducting a thorough survey of relevant radar solutions. The intended use of the ieMHR is to support its Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operations by creating safe flight zones when the UAS is applied for surveillance and security missions. These missions may include surveillance of critical infrastructure, including energy production facilities.
The ieMHR will perform aerial surveillance, detection and tracking of every type of aerial activity in the designated regions, providing real-time information to UAS operators, ensuring maximal security and safety within the protected area. The ieMHR will be integrated with additional sensors, to create a broad site situational awareness sensor suite, ensuring safe UAS operation in conjunction with other aerial traffic.
Dov Sella, RADA’s CEO, commented, "We are proud to have been selected once again by a leading global defense company for highly advanced applications of our radar technology. This is the first purchase of our AESA, software-defined radars, for use in an industrial application, demonstrating the advantage and versatility of our radar family in a wide variety of use cases, both civilian as well as military. The markets of critical infrastructure protection are large and emerging, and introduce new growth avenues for our technology, in addition to the specialized military markets for which our tactical, mobile and affordable solutions are highly applicable.”
