John Rambo, the famous Vietnam War veteran, is back, but it seems that he looks nothing like the old Rambo that everyone knows. This is because he changed a lot.
His red headband is gone and was replaced by a cowboy hat. His cargo pants and combat boots have been traded for leather chaps and kicks. Apparently, this is John’s new look in the upcoming “Rambo 5.”
Indeed, John Rambo is very different from the last time fans saw him in 2008’s “Rambo.” His new looks for the fifth installment of the hit movie series was revealed when Sylvester Stallone uploaded a poster on Instagram.
In his Oct. 2 post, an image of the “Rambo 5” character is put on display. The 72-year-old actor captioned the photo with the information that they are about to begin the movie’s filming.
His update has already gathered more than 330,000 “likes,” which means that fans are excited and looking forward to “Rambo 5.” Now, a day after posting his cowboy looks, he posted another photo and this time, he is riding a horse. Stallone simply captioned the image, "Comes a Horseman Wild and Free."
According to Deadline, “’Rambo 5” will feature a story where John Rambo, who has settled on a ranch, has to unleash his Rambo powers again to help his friend whose granddaughter was kidnapped.
He traveled to Mexico to save the girl but he must face the most brutal cartels first. It was reported that “Rambo 5” is filming in Bulgaria, where the last two of Stallone’s “Expendables” films were shot.
“Rambo 5” is directed by Adrian Grunberg and written by Matthew Cirulnick. Sylvester Stallone confirmed in May that it will be released in fall next year, and while fans are waiting, they can watch him as Rocky Balboa in “Creed 2,” which is set to hit theaters on Nov. 21.
