Responsibility.org is a national not-for-profit organization funded by distillers that leads the fight against drunk driving and underage drinking. The organization’s national advisory board plays a vital role in assisting in the development and execution of the organization’s mission by providing critical insights and valuable expertise to the president and CEO, Ralph Blackman, the staff and member companies.
“Drunk driving is a serious, preventable issue,” Wilkerson said. “I admire the Foundation’s innovative and effective campaigns to make our roadways safe for everyone, and I look forward to working with the national advisory board to make these initiatives even stronger.”
In his role at the ACEP, Mr. Wilkerson works on behalf of the 37,000 emergency department physicians across the country and is responsible for outreach to other national organizations representing medical professions, hospitals and health care providers. Prior to his position at ACEP, Wilkerson was the National Executive Director and CEO of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
“I’ve worked with many non-profit and advocacy organizations over the years, and Responsibility.org is second to none,” Roberts said. “As a member of the national advisory board, I look forward to working with their talented team to spread their fantastic programs and message to an even wider audience.”
Beyond his role at National Media Group, Mr. Roberts is a founding partner in Purple Strategies, a bi-partisan communications and reputation management firm based in Washington, D.C. In 2009, Mr. Roberts founded the Washington Media Scholars Foundation, a 501 (c)3 organization that provides academic, scholarship, and career opportunities to undergraduate students nationwide who are interested in the public affairs advertising industry.
“Dean Wilkerson has worked closely on the issue of drunk driving for many years, and Robin Roberts’ communications expertise will add a new perspective to our diverse advisory board,” said Ralph Blackman, president and CEO of the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility. “Both of them are highly successful and respected in their fields, and each will bring unique and valuable experience to our national advisory board.”
