“Rick and Morty” season 4 was confirmed five months ago and its creators have confirmed that it is in the works. Adult Swim has also released the first trailer of the animated series and so far, that is the latest update regarding the show.
Trailer
The 15-second “Rick and Morty” season 4 teaser is enough to excite fans and it is even more special because the content is not ordinary. In the video, lead characters Rick and Morty are portrayed as Marvel superheroes. Rick looks like X-Men’s Cyclops and Morty is his fierce sidekick.
The other cast members of “Rick and Morty” season 4 channel various other popular superhero characters. The teaser is fun to watch but it is not clear if this preview is part of an episode or it was simply made to tease the fans. Whatever its purpose, check out the trailer below:

Episodes
“Rick and Morty” was renewed for season 4 in May and at that time, it was announced that a total of 70 episodes were ordered from the showrunners. It is obvious that these will be divided and distributed for the next seasons.
According to Entertainment Weekly, showrunners Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland signed a deal for 70 episodes and they revealed that the fourth season may have just 14 episodes out of 70.
“I would like to think I’ve learned enough from my mistakes in season 3 that we could definitely do 14 now,” Dan said in the interview.
Cast
“Rick and Morty” season 4 will definitely retain Justin Roiland as Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith while Chris Parnell will still play Jerry Smith, Morty’s dad. Other cast members who are expected to return are Sarah Chalke (Beth Smith) and Spencer Grammer (Summer Smith).
“Rick and Morty” season 4 is not likely to premiere this year. Digital Spy reported that show producer Ryan Ridley predicted that it will arrive in late 2019.
