“Rick and Morty” season 4 has been on hiatus for a year already and followers of the Rick Sanchez and Morty are hoping that it will arrive soon. The third season concluded in October 2017 but up to now, the details about the new installment is scarce but rest assured that it would be released at a set date later.
After all, “Rick and Morty” season 4 has been renewed this past May so it is sure to make its way to TV. The fourth chapter will have 10 or more episodes since the renewal also came with an order of 70 episodes that will be divided for the succeeding seasons after the third.
Plot - What to Expect in the Fourth season?
“Rick and Morty” season 4’s plot may feature the return of Evil Morty and Citadel. This storyline has been hinted when the adult animation’s storyboard artist, Douglas Einar Olsen, uploaded an image on his Twitter.
On Nov. 6, he tweeted, “Aw jeez, do we really want an Evil Morty to rule the Citadel??” and this came with banners with a message that reads: “f***ing vote!” This was posted a day before the midterm elections in the U.S. so aside from hinting about Evil Morty’s return, it can be said that he was also urging everyone to vote.
“Rick and Morty’s” Production
“Rick and Morty” season 4 is in production and its co-creator, Dan Harmon, confirmed this via an update on his social media. In September, he showed fans how they are coming along with the series’ production and as can be seen in the short clip that he posted on Instagram, the team is now busy with drawing works. Prior to this update, it was revealed that the voice recording of the actors has begun as well.
Air Date
“Rick and Morty” season 4 is not coming this year so it will definitely be released next year. This may not take long though since there are only two months left before 2019 arrives, however, fans still have to wait for the announcement of the exact date.
