“Rick and Morty” season 5 is one of the most awaited animations despite the fact that season 4 has yet to be released. The fifth installment was confirmed when the fourth season was still in production so fans are excited that they will not have to wait longer when the fourth installment ends.
To get ready for “Rick and Morty” season 5’s arrival, here is a roundup of information that we know so far. Check out the release date, predicted guests and more.
Air Date
Although Adult Swim already confirmed that there will be a “Rick and Morty” season 5, its release date has not been set yet. The main reason for this is the fact that season 4 needs to premiere first sometime in 2019.
Confirmed Number of Episodes
When the popular animation was renewed in May, it was announced that there will be 70 episodes in all. However, the exact number that will be assigned to “Rick and Morty” season 5 was not specified.
“Rick and Morty” showrunners revealed on Entertainment Weekly that they signed a deal for 70 episodes but this will be spread out for the fourth and succeeding installments. In the interview, Dan Harmon mentioned that they might assign 14 episodes for the fourth season.
“I would like to think I’ve learned enough from my mistakes in season 3 that we could definitely do 14 now,” he said.
Cast
“Rick and Morty” season 5 will definitely bring back the main characters led by Justin Roiland (Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith), who is also one of the show’s creators. Chris Parnell, who voices Morty’s dad Jerry Smith, will still be in the series too. Other cast members are Spencer Grammar (Summer Smith) and Sarah Chalke (Beth Smith) are also expected to be back.
Guests who might make an appearance in “Rick and Morty” season 5 include Christian Slater, Susan Sarandon and Werner Herzog. And as per Vice, Kanye West is a big fan of the show and he will accept an invitation to appear on it. Thus, it was speculated that Roiland is considering adding him to the guest list.
