The 2019 San Diego Comic-Con would not have been complete without a “Rick and Morty” panel, especially since season 4 is confirmed to premiere this year. The show was not only present at the convention, but producers had also released the first-ever season 4 clip last week.
Luckily, even fans who were not at San Diego last week can witness the one-minute video now that Adult Swim has uploaded it on YouTube. The sequence shown was very brief, but it was enough to observe how much Morty’s character has changed in “Rick and Morty” season 4.
‘Rick and Morty’ season 4 sneak peek
The “Rick and Morty” season 4 teaser video features a four-eyed squishy purple alien named Glootie voiced by “Thor: Ragnarok” director Taika Waititi. Glottie appears to be working with Jerry on some dubious mobile app when something goes incredibly wrong and gets Morty so agitated.
The video does not present much context, but it seems like the app could be dangerous, and Morty is hell-bent on destroying it. But Glootie wants otherwise, and he refuses Morty to tell where the app’s server is making the titular character smash every computer screen in the room. In the earlier seasons, Morty used to be always scared, dependent on Rick, but never liked violence. However, things appear to change in “Rick and Morty” season 4 greatly.
After going on so many twisted adventures with Rick, Morty is really bound to become a young and dysfunctional character coming from a problematic family in “Rick and Morty” season 4. But season 3 ended making it appear like the Smiths is attempting to make things better for everyone in the family except Rick. Based on the quick preview of Morty, it seems like some things are still not working well. Rick is not included in this scene, which is absurd, because Rick has always been the one bringing in the aliens.
‘Rick and Morty’ season release date
Meanwhile, “Rick and Morty” season 4 is also speculated to give some answers about the mystery of real Beth and her clone. The popular adult animated series will return in November on Adult Swim. The network ordered at least 70 new episodes that likely helped in making sure that fans will not have to go through another couple of years of hiatus again as confirmed by co-showrunner Dan Harmon.
