Psyonix has announced the imminent release of “Rocket League” season 3, along with the new gameplay features to arrive with the update. However, fans will have more things to look forward to in the coming months as the developer confirmed upcoming bundles inspired by Formula 1 and NASCAR.
‘Rocket League’ season 3 gameplay, new content
A new car and arena have been the highlights of every season of “Rocket League,” and that tradition carries on for season 3 launching in April. While Psyonix has yet to provide more details about the upcoming gameplay content, the next update is confirmed to add a new battle car called the Tyranno. The developer describes the Dominus-type vehicle as being a “speed demon.”
As for the “Rocket League” season 3 arena, Psyonix is actually bringing back a classic in-game venue, the DFH Stadium. This is not the first time the studio is launching a new variant of the DFH Stadium, though, as it previously had snowy, stormy, and daytime versions. This time, the DFH Stadium is getting a redesign based on a racing circuit layout.
“The classic Arena has been outfitted with a track, and all the pageantry found trackside during a championship Sunday,” Psyonix said in the upcoming season’s announcement. The DFH Stadium’s Circuit variant will be added in the Casual and Competitive playlists and will be available for Private Match and Freeplay once “Rocket League” season 3 goes live in April.
As part of “Rocket League” season 3, Psyonix is also launching a NASCAR bundle in early May, followed by the Formula 1 bundle in mid-May. However, fans will have to wait for further announcements for details on the gameplay content included in these collaborations.
‘Rocket League’ season 3 release date
“Rocket League” season 3 will be released on Wednesday, April 7. To prepare the game for its launch, Psyonix will deploy an update on Tuesday, April 6, at 4 p.m. PDT.
Note that once season 3 goes live, the game will also reset the Competitive Season and the Competitive Tournament Rewards it entails. “Rocket League” is now a free-to-play title for PC (via Epic Games Store), PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
