NEWPORT NEWS, Va., March 03, 2016 -- Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (NYSE:HII) SN3 subsidiary will sponsor and participate in the Waste Management Conference taking place March 6-10 at the Phoenix Convention Center.
The annual conference provides a global forum for discussing and seeking cost-effective and environmentally responsible solutions for the safe management and disposition of radioactive waste and materials.

Nick Drucker, a modeling and simulation product manager at SN3, will present “Results of Modeling and Simulation Support to Special Nuclear Material Handling Facility Operations.” His presentation will address how simulation modeling can help identify and mitigate risks related to spent nuclear fuel handling.
Arron Pope, a senior scientist at SN3, will present “Remote Geophysical Logging at the Hanford Single‑Shell Tank Farms: Maintaining Efficiency and Reducing Personnel Hazards.” A new remote logging cable support was developed and implemented that reduces employee exposure while maintaining productivity.
Dwayne Kicker, a project manager at SN3, will discuss the impact of corrections to the spallings volume calculation on the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Performance assessment.
