Samsung reportedly has more devices to announce in early 2023, aside from its new flagship smartphones. The company is rumored to unveil a lineup of new Galaxy Book laptops at the same event in early 2023.
SamMobile reports it can “exclusively confirm” Samsung’s plans to announce new premium laptops at its first Galaxy Unpacked event next year. The report, however, did not have specific details about the laptops’ specifications, but the publication speculates the inclusion of 13th-generation Intel Core chips could be one of the main selling points.
Galaxy Books have been advertised as premium laptops, and existing features could provide some insights into what to expect from the upcoming models. For the Galaxy Book 2 lineup, Samsung offered a built-in S Pen in the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360. The Galaxy Book 2 360 supports the stylus but users had to purchase it separately.
The same report mentioned the possibility of having a dedicated GPU on some models. But it is worth noting that the standard Galaxy Book 2 laptops only came with the Intel Iris Xe graphics card. The upcoming laptops are also expected to feature Super AMOLED displays.
With the rumored announcement of new Galaxy Book laptops, the Unpacked event in early 2023 is expected to be longer. It is unclear how many models will be included in Samsung’s next lineup of laptops. But the Galaxy S23 series is still likely to include three variants, including the regular model, the Galaxy S23+, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
More details about the upcoming smartphones have been reported. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is widely rumored to include a 200MP main camera, which would be a first for any Samsung-made smartphone.
It has also been reported that the entire Galaxy S23 lineup will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The difference this time is that Samsung is expected to exclusively use the Snapdragon SoC for all units to be sold around the world.
The Galaxy Unpacked event for the Galaxy S23, and now possibly for the new Galaxy Book laptops as well, is rumored to happen on Feb. 1.
