Samsung's Galaxy S24 Plus has been spotted on Geekbench, running Android 15 and One UI 7. The device achieved impressive scores, indicating significant performance improvements. This development follows Samsung's extensive internal testing, with the One UI 7 beta expected in August.
Leaked Benchmarks Show Galaxy S24 Plus Running Android 15 with One UI 7, Highlighting Performance Gains
Samsung's One UI is renowned for its seamless integration across all versions and its emphasis on frequent updates that introduce new features and improved capabilities. The tech giant is developing Android 15 for the Galaxy S24 series, based on One UI 7. Internal testing is underway, as evidenced by recent leaks. The latest information highlights the potential of the S24 Plus to operate on Android 15, a significant development, and its performance scores based on One UI 7.
Previous reports suggested that Samsung has been internally testing the One UI 7 update on Android 15 for the Galaxy S24 lineup, but there needed to be more information regarding the development. The S24 Plus has been observed running Android 15 based on One UI 7 on a Geekbench result, according to renowned tipster Tarun Vats on X (formerly Twitter).
The Galaxy S24 Plus achieved a single score of 2114 and a multi-score of 6616, as evidenced by the platform's screenshot in the disclosure. This suggests that the One UI 7 update could bring significant performance capabilities and advancements to the Galaxy S24 lineup. It is crucial to acknowledge that the benchmark scoring is based on an early version of One UI 7, and the stable version may significantly enhance this score in the future.
One UI 7 Beta for Galaxy S24 Expected in August, Full Release Likely in October 2024
The One UI 7 beta update is anticipated to be released in August, with the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup being the first to receive it. According to Wccftech, it is still being determined which additional models will receive the update; however, reports indicate that only a limited number of models will receive the new version now.
Samsung's One UI 6.1.1 is set to debut at the Unpacked event on July 10 for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, and it will subsequently be made available for their predecessors and other selected devices—consequently, the One UI 7 update's release window appears to be far off. Reports also indicate that the One UI 7 update will be equipped with advanced Galaxy AI capabilities, and the company may extend the roll-out to ensure that the new AI features are fully integrated with the latest version.
The update is anticipated to introduce new and improved features, including an app lock and the most frequently requested vertical option in the app drawer, replacing the traditional horizontal app drawer alignment. If the company adheres to its standard update schedule, One UI 7.0 may be released at the Samsung Developer Conference on October 3, 2024.
