The electric vehicle (EV) racing competition chose Seoul as its next competition venue in August because the capital city fits well with the future-oriented image of the event.
Jamie Reigle, CEO of Formula E, which is launching the Seoul E-Prix this summer, that they are coming to Seoul because it represents the future of being a very connected city and it's a global city. Our crews are very excited because this is a global city."
The EV racing competition is being held in Korea for the first time, under the auspices of the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
Global automakers including Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Porsche will showcase their EV technology during the Seoul E-Prix. The two-day competition, which will take place on August 13 and 14, will feature 22 drivers competing on 11 teams, with two drivers per team, at the Jamsil Sports Complex in southeast Seoul.
The Seoul competition is the last competition to determine the 2021–2022 season's champion.
From August 10 to August 14, Seoul will stage a celebration named Seoul Festa to increase the success of the race there.
