“Shadowhunters Season” 3 is going to be the last for the supernatural drama series and its fans are trying to save it by campaigning on social media. The first part of the third installment has already aired and only 10 more episodes are left before fans say goodbye to the series, CarterMatt reported.
And speaking of goodbyes, the cast and crew have already said their farewells to each other as the production of “Shadowhunters Season” 3 already wrapped up last weekend. Sad as it may be, parting ways properly will do everyone a favor as it will provide a sense of closure for those who are involved in creating the supernatural drama.
So is there any possibility that there will be more to come when “Shadowhunters Season” 3 concludes? Freeform, the show’s mother network, has already said it’s “unlikely” that the show will return or find a new home.
However, there are already precedents to these kinds of things. For instance, when FOX canceled “Lucifer,” fans of the show rallied together on social media, tweeting and sharing their disappointment with the network’s decision.
Eventually, Netflix picked up the show and Tom Ellis (Lucifer) thanked everyone for saving the police procedural fantasy. The same thing could happen to the supernatural series if fans are willing to put up the effort of saving the show. “Shadowhunters Season” 3 will have 10 more episodes to offer, with the finale having a lot of heavy visual effects.
The show has always struggled with VFX as it has little budget to work with. But it seems the crew behind the scenes managed to create something explosive for its hardcore fans, trying to go out with as much noise as it can. It’s still unclear when “Shadowhunters Season” 3 will return but it’s expected to air sometime in fall.
