“Shameless” season 9 celebrates its 100th episode with election day. Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy) and Fiona Gallagher (Emmy Rossum) are battling it out as the father and daughter are campaigning for opposite sides.
The Gallagher patriarch wants Mo White to win while Fiona is voting for Isaac Ruiz. The former has a questionable background as he was once arrested for his pedophilic act of having a relationship with a 15-year-old girl but at the end, he still won in the election.
Now, “Shameless” season 9 episode 5 will pick up from the time when Frank was campaigning hard for Mo White and eventually turned away from Fiona. It will also reveal who will stand as Xan’s legal guardian. Will Lip choose to take care of him?
As shared on the Showtime website, “Shameless” season 9 episode 5 is titled “Black-Haired Ginger” and its synopsis reads: “Frank’s new liver medication comes with tragic side effects. Ian tries to get away from Fiona’s hovering. Lip has to keep himself occupied during a day of temptation.”
Also, “Carl makes a connection at a West Point mixer. Debbie tries to repair things with Alex.” Previously, Debbie and Alex moved in together but the latter asked her girlfriend to leave when she realized that she hates men more than she loves women.
Meanwhile, TMZ reported that child actress Amirah Johnson (Xan) successfully made her debut in “Shameless” season 9 and because of that, she is set to receive huge paychecks. The 11-year-old will continue with her role in the show until season 10 and is guaranteed to receive $10,000 per episode, thus she will be earning $70,000 for just seven episodes in the next season.
It was said that Showtime is banking on fresh faces like Amirah Johnson as Emmy Rossum is leaving the show. The actress confirmed her impending departure in August.
“Shameless” season 9 episode 5 will air on Oct. 7 at 9 p.m.
