“Shingeki No Kyojin” season 3 episode 12 may be jumping off from “The Bystander” episode's more introspective theme but fans can be assured that bloodshed and action are not far behind in the upcoming episode. Fans may remember that Eren and the rest of the Special Operations Squad members visited their former instructor, Keith Shadis, prior to “Shingeki No Kyojin” season 3 episode 12.
It seems that the former Survey Corps commander had personally known Eren's father, and was even directly involved in the cover-up of Eren's Titan powers during his youth. Keith was also privy to the truth of Carla Jaeger's death, a death which Eren does not remember due to the early manifestation of his Titan powers. But revelations from Shadis may not be the most important thing in the minds of the Survey Corps members when “Shingeki No Kyojin” season 3 episode 12 airs.

The show's voice-over mentions a mission and hope for humanity. With “Shingeki No Kyojin” season 3 episode 12 titled “Night of the Battle to Retake the Wall,” fans can expect the Survey Corps plans to return to the lost Shingashina district to push through.
Fans who have also read the manga will know that Levi's squad – specifically Eren – will be tasked to plug the gaping hole in Wall Maria before the soldiers of the Survey Corps will scour the originally lost Shingashina district for any surviving Titans. “Shingeki No Kyojin” season 3 episode 12 may focus on the challenges of getting to the hole in Wall Maria first before the meat of the action of attacking Titans, possibly from Bertolt and Reiner.
