‘Silicon Valley’ Season 6 Possible Air Date, Spoilers: Filming to Begin in Summer; Will It Be the Last?

“Silicon Valley” season 6 will start filming soon, and this is good news since the show has been off-the-air for almost a year now. Variety confirmed that production would resume this summer so fans could be looking forward to mid-2020 premiere date.

Moreover, the delay of “Silicon Valley” season 6 was explained HBO’s spokesperson late last year. He said that the cast and crew could not begin the shoot earlier because showrunner Alec Berg is still working on another project. He also handles “Barry” which has yet to premiere, so his hands are full at the moment.

“As Alec Berg is a showrunner on both ‘Barry’ and ‘Silicon Valley,’ the schedule was structured to allow Alec to wrap on ‘Barry’ before starting work on ‘Silicon Valley,'” the spokesperson told TV Line.

But while the renewal for “Silicon Valley” season 6 is already confirmed, there were speculations that it will be the final run. When the fourth installment wrapped up in 2017, Berg said in an interview that the show might not be around for long and hinted that they could be approaching the end soon.

“I can’t say we have a specific end date in mind, but we definitely for the first time are starting to talk about, ‘How long do you think this will continue?’ he shared. “There is no definitive plan to conclude the series, but we’re starting to think that maybe there are fewer shows left than there are in the can.”

Thomas Middleditch who plays Richard Hendricks in “Silicon Valley” seemed to have revealed the conclusion of the series as well. “Maybe one of the last seasons could be about how they made their billion dollars, but then it’s not the underdog story that we’ve come to know and love,” he said. “And I think everybody’s hesitant about turning it into this show that doesn’t live up to the premise we all bought into.”

Meanwhile, “Silicon Valley” also stars Martin Starr, Amanda Crew, Kumail Nanjiani and Zach Woods. The comedy show was created by John Altschuler, Mike Judge, and Dave Krinsky.
