In a shocking twist on “Dancing With The Stars,” Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles was eliminated despite achieving two consecutive perfect scores.
ABC news said Biles and her partner, Sasha Farber, looked visibly shocked when their names were called for elimination. Before the elimination, the two garnered perfect scores for their jive performance to the song "Faith" by Stevie Wonder featuring Ariana Grande, and the rhumba to "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato.
Although Farber accepted the defeat, Biles said expectations of her were a bit unfair. She said, "At times I think the expectations were each a little bit different for each contestant, and its hard to follow Laurie [Hernandez, fellow Olympian]. I feel like they wanted me to pick up where she left off, which is very hard because we're two different people."
She also dismissed suggestion that she lost votes because of her "Smiling doesn't win you gold medals” comment to host Tom Bergeren. She added, "I think it was a positive spin, if anything. There was a couple negative comments out that we saw, but you know you just dismiss it."
However, was gracious in her social media post, and was glad with the experience. She wrote on Instagram, “Can't thank you enough @sashafarber1 for all you've done. this journey has truly been life changing and I wouldn't want to do it with any other person also big thanks to everyone who supported #teamgoldengiggles throughout this season. you'll be stuck having me text & call you beyond this show SORRY thank you @dancingabc for this opportunity!”
