Bitcoin startup Snapcard has announced that it will discontinue its wallet service in the coming months.
The company made the announcement via blog post. Launched in early 2013, Snapcard aimed to make it easy to use bitcoin between friends, family and businesses across the globe.
Snapcard said that it is shutting down its digital currency wallet to focus on Masspay – its money transfer solution powered by blockchain.
“We’ve come to a point where we need to make some decisions on our current product offering and what we’re able to manage. Our Masspay product has been aligned with the value that we bring to the community and is something in which we will be investing heavily”, Snapcard said. “With that focus in mind, we’re deeply sorry to announce that we will no longer continue operating the Snapcard platform.”
The company said that from 01 May 2017, users would not be able to access Snapcard and their accounts. It added that for the next two months, it will help users to secure and migrate their funds to other platforms.
