Fans can’t stop talking about Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo even if they have already been officially divorced for five months this month. The former husband and wife have called it quits in June, and their divorce was approved in July without a scandal.
In fact, it was a separation with no mess and something that was settled quickly as both parties immediately agreed to the terms. The former A-list couple did not make a fuss because they also want to do it quietly and without hurting any party.
Song Hye Kyo’s projects
After the divorce, both Hye Kyo and Joong Ki tried to make their lives normal again. They are now single individuals and proceeded to do their work as they should. However, it is very noticeable that the actress is only doing photoshoots for magazines and promotional projects, and the question is why she does not have any acting work since her divorce?
As it turned out, it was Song Hye Kyo’s choice to skip acting. She wants to focus more on her wellness first and spend more time for herself. In her interview with Hong Kong’s Tatler in July, the actress said, “This year, I will take some personal time off. I need to have some time for myself.”
She went on to say, “Apart from events like these (promotional event), I will take it easy. And next year, I will start a new project - maybe - but nothing has been fully decided yet. Let’s see if the stars align.”
Joong Ki’s acting gigs
As for Song Joong Ki, it appears that he has grabbed the good opportunities that have came his way. After the conclusion of “Arthdal Chronicles” in September, he was confirmed to have been cast for a sci-fi film called “Victory.” Currently, the actor is busy filming South Korea’s very first full sci-fi fantasy movie.
Finally, Song Joong Ki is also rumored to be replacing Gong Yoo in the sequel of the acclaimed movie “Train to Busan.” There is no update about this yet, but based on the initial reports, Song Hye Kyo’s ex-husband is starring as the next main character in this suspense thriller film.
